Bullying

Unfortunately in society, bullying occurs. However, we are AWARE and are proactive in dealing with it. Teachers are trained in behavioural management and we run a positive playground initiative, there are also many other resources we can access.

Students Rights balanced with Student Responsibilities
The balance is stressed at all times and is appreciated by the students.

Student Rights

A right is something that belongs to you and cannot be taken away by anyone.

1.
You have the right to be treated as an individual.
2.
You have the right to be treated with respect and kindness.
3.
You have the right to express your ideas and opinions at the right time and in the appropriate way.
4.
You have the right to be in a safe school.
5.
You have the right to be offered the opportunity to tell your side of the story.


Student Responsibilities

Responsibilities are things that are expected of you. You should not need to be told to do the things that are your responsibilities. Some of these you do for others and some of them you do for yourself.

1.
You have a responsibility to allow others to work without being bothered.
2.
You have a responsibility to obey school rules.
3.
You have a responsibility to play your part in making Addington School a good place to be.
4.
You have a responsibility to take care of property.
5.
You have a responsibility to attend school everday and to arrive on time.
6.
You have a responsibility to complete your classroom assignments and to hand them in on time.
7.
You have a responsibility to play your part in making sure there is good communication between school and home.
8.
You have a responsibility to make yourself aware of the consequences when school rules are broken.
